At The Row’s pre-fall 2024 runway collection in Paris, models hit the runway in colourful net jelly sandals, appearing as though they had just stepped off a rocky Mediterranean beach. I’m not sure I would have predicted that the waterproof shoe would make a comeback this summer, if it weren’t for the debut of The Row’s Mara version on the runways in September, but with all four colourways nearly sold out, you can definitely expect the rubbery shoe to be all over your Instagram feeds this summer.

For those who missed the chance to nab a pair of The Row’s cage flats (or perhaps don’t want to drop £860 on a set of PVC shoes), there are similar iterations on the market, from high-street and contemporary labels to vintage styles.

Wonderfully weird and undeniably playful, the jelly sandal is also ultra convenient when it comes to the dealing with sun, surf, and sand, making them perfect for summer holiday dressing. Bring on the beach.
