NEW DELHI: On the second day of the fifth Test match between India and England in Dharamsala, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill showcased exceptional batting skills, leading India to a commanding position against the visitors.
The duo orchestrated a formidable 171-run partnership for the second wicket, demonstrating their dominance over the English bowlers.
Captain Rohit Sharma notched his 12th Test century, while Shubman Gill secured his fourth Test century just before the lunch break, solidifying India’s stronghold in the match.However, England captain Ben Stokes cleaned up his Indian counterpart Rohit with the very first ball he has bowled since having knee surgery late last year.
Stokes, aided by veteran pacer James Anderson, initiated a swift comeback after the lunch break by claiming two crucial wickets.
Stokes made an immediate impact with a mesmerizing delivery that dismantled Rohit Sharma’s stumps, sending the Indian captain back to the pavilion. The delivery left spectators and analysts in awe, with coach Baz McCullum expressing astonishment as he observed the dismissal on his iPad.
