How To Bet on Day 3 Of The Cheltenham Festival
As we head into the third day of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival there are seven more races to enjoy.
We get going again at 1:30 – this time with the Turners Novices’ Chase – a race that many will remember this year’s Gold Cup favourite Galopin Des Champs falling at the last in 12 months ago.
This year the red-hot favourite for the race is the Gordon Elliott-trained Mighty Potter – who is 3-from-3 over fences. Can he make it four?
The Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle is next at 2:10 – a tough race that the trusted ‘pin’ might have to be reached for. But trainer Gordon Elliott often does well, so look for anything he runs.
All eyes on Shishkin in the Ryanair Chase at 2:50 as he looks to give trainer Nicky Henderson a third win in the race. Then it’s the ‘big one’ at 3:30pm – with the Stayers’ Hurdle. It’s a race that the Irish dominate this year, with the likes of Blazing Khal, Teahupoo and the two-time winner Flooring Porter. Therefore, if the Emerald Isle are not landing this one it will be a huge shock.
The second half of the card sees the Plate Handicap Chase – a race Coole Cody won 12 months ago. Then it’s the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at 4:50 and Luccia puts her unbeaten record on the line.
