Meghan Markle has been dealt a blow after a British fashion designer, who’s regularly favouring royals, said he doesn’t want her to be seen in his clothes.

Julien Macdonald, one of Wales’s most famous fashion designers, boasts quite a spectacular clientele including the likes of Kylie Minogue Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham and Naomi Campbell.

But recently he revealed he’s got a good relationship with Queen Camilla, who allegedly sometimes asks him for fashion tips.

Camilla previously teamed up with Mr Macdonald when she attended the Julien Macdonald Fashion Show in 2018 in London for a fundraising event in support of the National Osteoporosis Society, which she is a president of.

Former Strictly contestant Macdonald told the Mail‘s Richard Eden during this year’s Fragrance Foundation Awards in London: “I’ve got a great relationship with Camilla, the Queen. She’s incredible. She does [ask for tips] every now and then.

“When I see her at different events, I always say, ‘You look really nice, Camilla’, and she’ll say, ‘Do you like it? Oh, I’m glad you approve’.”

He also said he would love to dress the Princess of Wales because she is “amazing”. The designer added: “I’d love to dress her [Princess Kate] in one of my dresses.”

However, he did reveal he does not wish to dress Meghan Markle. Asked if he’d like to dress the Duchess of Sussex, he replied: “No, I prefer Kate and Camilla.”

It comes as Meghan had her hopes of landing a contract with high-end fashion brand Dior diminish last year after the French fashion house chose Meg Bellamy, who plays Princess Kate in season six of Netflix‘s The Crown, as its new face.

It had been rumoured that the duchess was reportedly “in talks” with the luxury French company but in November it was revealed that Bellamy would be its new face.
