It’s the first time the bargain retailer has ever hosted sales for Black Friday.

Usually, the chain is one of just a few which decide not to take part.

These include other discounters like Primark, B&M, TK Maxx and Home Bargains.

This is usually because they offer low prices all year round.

The annual sale event sees massive price reductions from dozens of high street and online retailers including Amazon, H&M, John Lewis

This year, Poundland is also slashing prices throughout this week ahead of the main event.

On Wednesday, across 550 Poundland stores, there will be a blanket 20% reduction on all its new baby and kidswear which recently launched.

Plus, there are offers listed on the website already.

Shoppers can find them on Poundland’s newly launched digital website at

Fresh offers will be dropping every day from today through to Friday.

These already include well-known brands Elizabeth Arden, Clarins, Lancôme, Sanctuary Spa, Illamasqua make-up ranges and haircare range Olaplex.

Some of the deals have already dropped this morning.

For example, you can pick up an Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference cream for just £13 – instead of £45.

Other bargains include Essie nail varnishes reduced by 71% to £3.50 from £15.

You can also find Clarins’ foot cream reduced from £27 to just £15.

One of the biggest bargains we found was a Maybelline Fit Me powder reduced from £9.99 to £2 – a whopping 80% off.

Not only that but there will also be a range of designer fragrances for both men and women including Burberry, Calvin Klein, Jimmy Choo, Britney Spears and Issey Miyake, just in time for Christmas.

The Sun has contacted Poundland for the full list of discounts on these perfumes and will update this story when we hear back.

Poundland’s commercial director Tim Bettley said: “Whether online or offline, we’re all-in with Black Friday this year for the very first time.

“Our event will allow our in-store shoppers to see for themselves the amazing new kids and babywear we now offer in the majority of our stores.

“Online, we’ve got over 100 Black Friday deals throughout the week so customers can save even  more.”

Poundland recently announced the transition to new clothing ranges by parent company Pepco.

The chain now offers various clothing ranges at 560 stores across the UK and Ireland.

This includes all 56 former Wilko locations which have now re-opened as Poundlands. launched back in September offering customers the choice to buy their favourite items online for the first time.

Meanwhile, Black Friday discounts have come early at further major UK retailers as well.

The annual sale event is now a major fixture on the shopping calendar around the world.

While the official date of Black Friday is November 24 this year many do tend to kick off the sales early.

Amazon has officially kicked off its huge Black Friday sale, enticing shoppers with a week-long flood of offers, including this incredible deal on the Fire TV for Prime members.

Online marketplace eBay is giving eager bargain-hunters 40% off Dyson products, including on the popular Dyson Airwrap.

While trendy fitness brand Gymshark has also joined the discounting, offering shoppers a whopping 70% off everything (yes, you read that correctly).
