Jack Draper To Join Davis Cup Team After US Open
British tennis player Jack Draper is focusing on his fitness regimen following a minor injury concern he picked up during the US Open. The 22-year-old, who is currently Britain’s number one player, faced a setback during his semifinal match at Flushing Meadows against eventual champion Jannik Sinner, where he experienced physical distress due to the intense heat and humidity in New York.
Despite his challenging match, Draper is determined to bounce back and is scheduled to join his Davis Cup teammates in Manchester on Tuesday. The quick turnaround from the US Open has not deterred Draper’s commitment to regaining his fitness levels, as he aims to contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming matches.
The team’s spokesperson emphasized that Draper and his support team are diligently working towards his recovery and fitness improvement. The team’s captain, Leon Smith, will consider Draper’s condition when finalizing the team selection for the upcoming matches.
Team Great Britain is set to compete against Finland in their first match on Wednesday, followed by a match against Argentina on Friday. The team will then face the reigning champions, Canada, on Sunday in Group D of the Davis Cup tournament.
