Race 1. (12:53) Ladbrokes Mates Mode (Bm78) 1050m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

6 Hold On Honey (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is hard to beat here for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp. Three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he did work to land on speed and tried his guts out but condition just gave way, feeling the pinch late when a close up third to stablemate Fetch. Has that run under the belt and if that hasn’t busted him, he’ll take beating.

Danger

3 Zuma California (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a Cameron Richardson trained gelding that resumes. This guy had a somewhat frustrating Summer prep, which ended with a far from disgraced effort in The Gateway but seemingly had his chance. He’s a good fresh horse and the trial win at Toowoomba last week was very good. If he jumps clean, he’ll land on speed and take beating.

Long Shot

14 Putontheredlight (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) finds it very hard to win but she is a handy mare that should be around the mark. Ran over this track/distance just over two weeks back where she got back in the run and worked to the line with purpose but was no match for a good horse IMO in Nashira. She needs things to fall into place but she has the engine under the hood to be more than competitive.

Race 2. (13:33) Magic Millions Gold Coast 2000m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

3 Fast Talking (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) should prove to be a leading contender here. Thought he did more than enough fresh over 1350m at Ipswich before going to the mile last Saturday at Eagle Farm and I thought he found the line really well nearer the inside when second to Santero. He has reacted on the back up before and getting to a more suitable trip, he appeals big time.

Danger

5 Mubariz (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has been a much improved horse since the Blinkers have been applied. Game fourth two back to Namazu before going to the 1800m at Eagle Farm and worked to the line pretty well late in the piece behind Trevelyan, clocking good late splits. Racing like 2000m will suit and if he can settle closer in the run, I think he’ll take beating against these.

Long Shot

4 Barade (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has had two runs this prep, both at 1800m, and for mine is racing like he will appreciate a rise to 2000m. The latest run came two weeks back behind Trevelyan where he had to do a bit of early work from the wide gate and just couldn’t get involved, finishing down the track. Has more upside than most and getting a rise in trip, he’ll run a much improved race.

Race 3. (14:08) Jim Roberts 35 Yrs Of Serv.-C6 1600m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

3 Red Wave (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) looks to be in for a good prep for Team Sears. Market said he would run well fresh at Eagle Farm and while he didn’t win, he did catch the eye from near last on the turn, beaten just over two lengths by Morethannumberone, clocking decent enough late splits. Has won well second up previously and getting to the mile, he appeals.

Danger

1 Bottega (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) should prove hard to beat. Lee Freedman trained gelding that resumed over 1400m two weeks ago at Eagle Farm and the run was an absolute beauty, working home with real purpose late nearer the inside and just missing out on the win when a narrow second to Morethannumberone. Fitter, up to the mile, hard to beat if he can settle closer in the run.

Long Shot

4 Spanish Point (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) might need another run but his best is good enough to be dangerous. He resumed over this track/distance three weeks back where he ran last behind Sagacious but given the race shape, he had zero chance of making an impact. There is similar quality depth here like first up so not sure he wins, but with a more genuine tempo, he can pinch a first four spot.

Race 4. (14:48) Pat Welsh Plate (C3) 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

4 Buying Time (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has the 1200m run under the belt so I want to give him another chance because I think he is too good of a horse to dismiss. He ran three weeks ago at this track/distance where he was backed as if unbeatable but after getting a suck run in behind, he was keen and that just took away something from his finale when second to all the way winner Situation Room. Giving him one more chance.

Danger

Team Freedman rarely get it wrong when they bring them to Brisbane so I am giving respect to 1 Allusionist (Bet Now:
$SP.00
). He has been solid in three runs back from a spell, the latest run being a tick over two weeks ago at Warwick Farm over 1000m when just off the speed and battled late behind a very progressive animal, Headwall. Like him up in trip and the depth here is nowhere near as strong.

Long Shot

20 Bronze Dragon (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) creates interest. Formerly with Billy Healey but now finds himself with Desleigh Forster. He has had two runs this time in, resuming with a second in a maiden here before going to 1200m at the Sunny Coast where he spanked them in a dominant display. The stable switch interests me but his best is certainly good enough to be around the mark.

Race 5. (15:28) The Gold Jewel 1350m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

8 Stuttering (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) should prove hard to beat here. Rob Heathcoate trained gelding that was an all the way winner two back over 1400m at Eagle Farm before racing at the same track/distance and was good in defeat when a close up third to Morethannumberone. He tends to race better at Eagle Farm than Doomben but he’s hard fit, in form and genuine. Key chance.

Danger

1 Tumbler Ridge (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has a fab record at the track and it looks like he has been set for the race, having been kept on ice since the Sunny Coast Cup back in late January when solid in defeat behind new stablemate Chaillot, who was backed with confidence and bolted up. Saves his best for Doomben and fresh at 1350m tells me there is some level of intent. Happy to be in his corner.

Long Shot

2 Master Jamie (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) ran well in this race last year and looks to have been set for it again. He’s had two runs back from a spell, both at Rockhampton, and each time he’s carried 65.5kg. He has been beaten each time but has been quite game in both runs. Gets really good weight relief here, he should land on speed and prove hard to run down.

Race 6. (16:10) Eureka Stud Military Rose 1110m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

4 Majestic Shot (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is flying for Grant Allard but she has that awful racing pattern of getting a mile out of her ground and giving those in front too much head start. That was the case at Doomben a few weeks ago over 1050m and really, her late splits were incredible from the back when third to Fetch, beaten a length. If she’s within range 400m out, I think she’ll be winning and winning well.

Danger

5 Sweet Margot (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) May is a daughter of I Am Invincible for Rob Heathcoate that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since October 15 when game in defeat behind Hot Spring Gold, beaten just over a length in a very good effort. very genuine mare that is unbeaten fresh and her recent trial was a good piece of work. Hard to beat fresh.

Long Shot

6 Fetch (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a talented mare for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp that is three weeks between runs since resuming with a sharp win over 1050m here. She looked to be in a tricky spot early on in the straight but once she got clear, she let down with a brilliant finale to win and win impressively. She has been kept on ice with this race in mind and loves racing at Doomben. Hard to beat.

Race 7. (16:53) Sky Racing Qtis Jewel 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

9 Trifling (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has been kept on ice with this race in mind and happy to be in her corner. She hasn’t raced for four weeks since a dominant win over 1200m at Eagle Farm where she gave them a start and a beating, letting down with a powerful finale to win well again. Fast run 1200m should be ideal, she’ll get a perfect run in transit and be strong at the end.

Danger

8 Mishani Royale (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has to rate as one of the hardest to beat. Les Ross trained filly that went like a jet when winning the Fillies Prelude two weeks ago, drawing clear late after leading and the impressive part was the time. Relative to the Boys Prelude, she smashed the clock and was impressive from the front. She won comfortably the start prior at 1100m so 1200m is fine and is hard to beat IMO.

Long Shot

If they go silly in front, look for 5 Top Fun (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) to sit back and launch late. He was 1110m back to 1000m two weeks back in the Boys Prelude and was very good from near last when a close up third to Spin Doctor. The way he finds the line, 1200m is ideal, and if he’s within range on the turn, he is certainly good enough to take this out.

Race 8. (17:30) Channel 7 Qtis Jewel 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

11 She’sgottheboom (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) won the 2YO Jewel last year so will be interesting to see if she can back up as a 3YO. She resumed two weeks back over 1110m here where the market said she had three legs, needed the run, and that’s how it panned out, tiring late behind Burnish Gold. The run was still solid enough given she was first up since August so she has room for improvement and has class/quality.

Danger

14 Ekaterina (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a quality filly for Rob Heathcoate that resumes and I reckon she can resume with a big performance. She hasn’t raced since New Years Eve in the Vo Rogue when back in the run and making up ground without threatening behind Fashion Legend, who of course came out and won the Magic Millions Guineas, so the form clearly reads well and she’ll be strong late off a good speed.

Long Shot

16 Spirit Queen (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has had two runs at 1000m now and I think she is clearly wanting more ground, which is what she gets here. Strong winner of her maiden two back at the Sunny Coast before going to Eagle Farm two weeks ago and was good late without threatening behind All That Pizzazz. Think getting back up to 1200m suits and hard to beat if she can settle closer in the run.

Race 9. (18:05) Stradbroke Season On Sale-Bm78 1350m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

22 Count The Coin (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) looks to have returned in really good order and should love the rise in trip. He resumed two weeks ago over 1200m at Eagle Farm where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never really a threat, I liked the way he found the line late in the piece behind the very much in form Deepour. Fitter and up to 1350m, he rates highly for me.

Danger

5 Rathlin (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is an enigma but he has the quality to take beating against these. He ran in a tidy open handicap at this track/distance three weeks ago and was good late from off the speed but in the end, was safely held by Animate. Third up from a break, he should be hard fit and back to 78 grade, his best is certainly good enough to take this out.

Long Shot

17 Befana (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is three weeks between runs for Lindsay Hatch since racing over 1200m here where she got back off the speed and was held up a crucial stage but eventually got clear and found the line with purpose late in the piece when second to Xtra Gear. Has that 1200m run under the belt and with clear air this time around, she can take take this out for sure.
